Bill requiring curricula postings makes its way through the AZ House
Proponents say this is about transparency and parental empowerment. Opponents like Jay Kaprosy, a lobbyist for the Arizona Charter Schools Association, say this bill overcorrects for an uncommon issue.
“The way that this bill is structured does place a very significant burden on schools. And in many ways the vast majority of schools are being penalized for the unfortunate acts and the inappropriate acts of a very limited number of schools," Kaprosy said.
The bill has already passed the Senate. And now awaits discussion in the House Rules committee, the last stop before a full vote.
