A group of election reform proposals have failed to pass the Arizona Senate on Monday.

Among the proposals was a bill that would make it a misdemeanor to misplace ballots and one that would give election workers unique passwords to log into machines. 

Republican Sen. Paul Boyer often voted against the measures. He said there are problems with hooking voting machines to the internet.

“The reason that I opposed this bill is it’s not workable. Counties can’t implement this. It’s that simple, it’s a very simple bill and it’s a very simple problem," Boyer said. 

Several senators proposing the bills that failed have made motions for reconsideration, which would allow the bills to be voted on again.
