The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported December’s national unemployment rate stood at 3.9%. Arizona’s unemployment rate, as of November, was at 4.7%.

Many businesses continue to experience labor shortages. Danny Seiden, president and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says businesses in the state are looking to recruit workers.

“Our members are doing everything they can to be innovative and get people in the door, get them going to work, finding the best ways to get talent to not only stay here in Arizona and come work for them, but also get some talent migration,” Seiden said.

Arizona is also facing an affordable housing problem. Seiden believes housing needs will be met as wages and income continue to increase.
