Boas: How Ducey's political pandering over masks is putting state funds at risk

Gov. Doug Ducey ran into public opposition — and now legal opposition, as well — for his attempts to distribute federal COVID-19-related funding in a way that aligns with his political views. That specifically came into play with how he wanted to reward schools that didn’t have mask mandates with more per-pupil money.

In a weekend column, Bob Robb of the Republic argued that Ducey was focused too much on political pandering with that approach.
