The postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic games' opening ceremony was held July 23.

It was, as always, a highly anticipated event, but this year is different.

Not only are they trying to hold the games amid the ongoing pandemic — and rising COVID-19 cases — there’s now a scandal involving the opening ceremony’s chief.
