Free Military Mental Health Fair In Chandler On Friday
Chandler is partnering with a nonprofit to host a free health event for veterans on Friday, June 25.
Veterans are invited to the Matthew B. Juan American Legion Post 35 located at 2240 W. Chandler Blvd., Chandler, AZ.
People can attend workshops on things like breath work for mental health, living with post traumatic stress disorder, and the homebuying experience. The full schedule is listed below.
Informational booths will include college enrollment services, VA claims and care, veteran court, along with counseling and faith-based support services. Free haircuts and massage chairs will also be available.
The Military Mental Health Resilience is the inaugural event between Chandler and Operation Shockwave, a nonprofit focused on suicide prevention for veterans.
“Since working with Operation Shockwave, we’ve learned there are more than 13,000 veterans that live in our City,” said Niki Tapia, Chandler Diversity Office. “We’re committed to assisting with outreach to ensure our veteran community is aware of all of the resources available at this event and through Operation Shockwave.”
