Jeff Flake: Being A Trump Loyalist Is A Strategy Mistake
Former Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake spoke to CNN about what he sees as a strategy mistake by the Republican Party to be loyalists to former President Donald Trump.
With Wyoming Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney facing scrutiny over her statements that the election was not stolen, Flake says if the party wants to take back the U.S. House they should leave her in her leadership position.
“With the Democratic Party moving more progressive there’s plenty of room there and we could do well in the midterms, but not if we continue this craziness of questioning the last election and going after those who aren't completely devoted to the former President," Flake said.
Flake also says Republicans need to understand that while being devoted to Trump helps in the primaries, that strategy will lose state-wide elections.
