The Show regularly checks in with the Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about current issues facing the state and the region — featured in columns on the newspaper’s op-ed pages.

The 50-50 split in the U.S. Senate was supposed to lead to more negotiations between Democrats and Republicans in the effort to move legislation forward. So far, we haven’t seen much of that. But there has been a clear effort by a few senators —including Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema and West Virginia’s Joe Manchin — to influence the direction of some issues.

In a new column for the Republic, Bob Robb argues Sinema and her Arizona colleague Mark Kelly should retain a moderate approach when it comes to unions — rather than go along with proposed changes by progressives.

The Show spoke with Phil Boas of the Republic for more about Robb’s perspectives.
