Walls have separated individual houses, communities and, of course, nations for centuries. In more modern times, the Berlin Wall may be the first to come to mind. And during the Trump administration, the building of a new border wall or reinforcing what already existed was a top priority.

In her book "Wall Disease," reporter Jessica Wapner writes about how walls affect us internally and externally.

The Show spoke with her for more about what she learned concerning the psychological complexity of walls from a geographer.
