Producer for KJZZ's The Show

KJZZ is looking for a producer for its weekday morning news magazine. KJZZ’s The Show reaches hundreds of thousands of listeners weekly.

The broadcast producer assist hosts and the production team in creatively producing segments, booking interviews, writing thoughtful scripts, editing audio and preparing a live show weekdays on 91.5 FM.

Candidate should be passionate about news and have a knack for finding stories and voices that matter to Arizonans.

Essential functions

Researches story topics, books guests, set-up studio time, create interview packet; write and prepare scripts; generates ideas; gathers news and related program information.

Performs tape editing and produces programs and/or program segments.

Coordinates program segments with field correspondents and others involved in programming.

Participates in on-air fundraising projects and programming.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or directly related field and one year directly related experience.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience.

Desired qualifications

1. Master’s degree in related field.
2. Two years producing radio content.
3. One or more years of news reporting experience.
4. Two years of editing experience using digital tools.
