KJZZ program director

KJZZ is looking for a dynamic, driven program director to help guide the broadcasts heard by hundreds of thousands of listeners in metro Phoenix, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S.

The program director develops and oversees broadcast operations for 91.5 FM. Duties include managing production, post production, programming, and/or special events scheduling that includes supervision of assigned staff.

This position works closely with KJZZ's award-winning on-air talent, including scheduling and airchecks.

Essential Functions

50% — Plans, develops and oversees broadcast operations including production, post production, programming, and/or technical engineering operations.
25% — Manages on-air teams and provides guidance, training and feedback on all on-air products.
15% — Develops and provides operational reporting, promotional materials and/or broadcast publications.
10% — Participate in fundraising activities; other duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, educational leadership or related field and four years of educational program administration experience that includes two years of management and supervision.  

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. 

Desired Qualifications

1. Five years of radio production experience including local and national programming.
2. Five years management experience, preferably media teams.
3. Four years project management experience.
4. Three or more years of live broadcast experience.
5. Master's degree in journalism, communications or directly related field.
