KJZZ’s Original Productions is looking for a supervising producer to manage and direct The Show, a weekday news magazine program on 91.5 FM. Join a team devoted to telling the compelling stories important to listeners in the Phoenix metro area and the Southwest region.
The supervising producer is in charge of directing the work of hosts and producers who serve an audience of hundreds of thousands of listeners each week in the U.S.’s fifth largest city.
Supervising producer approves topics, directs staff; plans a daily radio news magazine, including special series, remote broadcasts and special events.
70% — Develops content and material for weekday news magazine. Creates topic development, ear-grabbing audio presentations, helps producers identify and build unique segment. Plans and prepares content, assists hosts in delivering strong daily program.
10% - Plans and organizes the work of producers/team.
10% - Participates in fundraising activities.
10% - Other duties as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or related field and five years of studio, production, programming and/or technical radio/television broadcast experience which includes two years of supervisory experience.
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
1. Four years of radio production experience including local and national programming.
2. Three years management experience, preferably media teams.
3. Three years project management experience.
4. Three or more years of live broadcast experience.
5. Master's degree in journalism, communications or directly related fielding.
