AstraZeneca Vaccine Could Help Smaller Arizona Health Providers
Another coronavirus vaccine is awaiting approval and could be ready for use next month.
Will Humble is the former director of the Arizona Department of Health Services. He says the AstraZeneca vaccine could be very good for doctor’s offices and smaller clinical settings.
“The main difference with the AstraZeneca vaccine is that it only needs to be refrigerated. There’s no crazy cold chain involved," Humble said.
Humble also says hospitals are overwhelmed and have resorted to pushing out non-emergency procedures. DHS reports as of Sunday, over 50% of ICU beds in Arizona were occupied by COVID patients.
