The 2021 legislative session will start in about two-and-a-half weeks, and when lawmakers convene, they’ll do so in the midst of the same global pandemic that caused them to abruptly adjourn this year’s session.

Senate President Karen Fann has announced temperature checks and masks will be required for everyone coming into the Senate building, among other protocols.

Fann has also been at the center of questions raised about last month’s election, signing off on subpoenas issued by Sen. Eddie Farnsworth in an effort to audit Maricopa County’s voting system.

The County Board of Supervisors voted last week to ask the courts to rule on what they do and do not have to turn over.

The Show spoke with President Fann earlier this week, before she announced the COVID-19 protocols for her chamber, and before the Senate filed suit against the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.

They asked her about the election audit, and that assuming Maricopa County at some point does do an audit, and that audit comes back and finds, as previous ones have, that there was no fraud, that if she thinks that would put her members’ minds at ease.
