Lows In The 30s? Cooldown Coming This Week In Valley

After a stifling summer and record high temperatures late into the year, chilly weather is headed our way.

National Weather Service meteorologist Austin Jamison says daytime temperatures will be pleasant, and low temperatures could drop down into the 30s this week.

"Highs in the Phoenix area will be in the low 70s Monday through Wednesday, and then we’ll dip into the upper 60s for Thursday, and perhaps we’ll get to around 70 by Friday," Jamison said.

In the high country, temperatures will get even colder — with lows in the teens possibly dropping down into the single digits.

"They'll start off in the upper teens for the next few mornings," Jamison said. "In the latter half of the week they'll be closer to 10 degrees."

Also, in the Valley, a Wind Advisory has been issued for areas east of Phoenix, including U.S. 60 and Highway 87, for Monday from 2 a.m. to noon. Gusts up to 45 mph out of the east are possible.
