More Youths Test Positive For COVID-19 At Adobe Mountain School
More youths have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Adobe Mountain School in Phoenix, Arizona’s juvenile detention center. Fifty-nine youths there have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to a spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections, 58 of those youths have recovered and one is currently positive.
The department says 48 employees have tested positive for COVID-19 throughout the pandemic, and 45 of those staff members have recovered.
A spokesperson said youth programming is being limited to cohorts of eight, and additional measures are being taken to observe recommended social distancing protocols.
As of August, there were 205 juveniles living at the Adobe Mountain School.
