Rep. Ruben Gallego Calls Out Gov. Ducey On COVID-19 Policies
Congressman Ruben Gallego has stepped up his criticism of Gov. Doug Ducey's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Gallego has called on Arizona residents to wear masks to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as the number of cases in the state continues to rise at an alarming rate.
“If the state doesn’t want to do it, we as individuals have to step up, and continue social distancing, be careful, and really give a fighting chance to our hospitals,” Gallego said.
Gallego said that Ducey's executive order helped check the virus. He hoped that the state was doing the right thing when it started to reopen. But he said in a letter to the governor that the number of positive tests has more than doubled.
Hospitalizations are rising. A University of Washington projection predicts that the state will have more than 4,000 COVID deaths by early August.
