'Dine In The Park' Initiative Allows Alcohol Consumption In Chandler Park
Bars and restaurants throughout the state are reopening but still operating with social-distancing restrictions.
The city of Chandler is providing more elbow room for customers hoping to enjoy an alcoholic beverage.
Chandler is relaxing its rules on public alcohol consumption through the “Dine in the Park” initiative. Customers who order takeout wine or beer from Chandler’s downtown restaurants will now be able to consume their drinks at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park.
Mayor Kevin Hartke says it’s part of an effort to give restaurants more room to serve under coronavirus limitations.
The alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the park from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from noon to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
Hartke says he is grateful for the public’s support of local businesses and says he hopes to see other cities make similar accommodations.
