The Valley’s Phoenician Resort was sold earlier this week for $400 million and the luxury facility is about to undergo some updating.

What exactly does that mean and why does an upscale resort need something different? We asked Kristen Jarnagin, senior vice president of the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association.
