Millions are working from home to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

But one listener wanted to know what to do if a child or partner has to work outside the home. KJZZ put the question to Will Humble of the Arizona Public Health Association.

People with jobs where no one has been diagnosed with coronavirus can observe standard hygiene precautions, said Humble.

But if someone at work has been exposed, then it's time to self-quarantine, perhaps in a spare bedroom.

Finally, people who are diagnosed should isolate themselves.

But that's easier said than done when people have different abilities and housing situations.

"It's not easy, which is in part why we saw so much family transmission in China, South Korea and everywhere," said Humble.

Humble said such situations reveal how an approach like sheltering in place is not a cure-all.
