President Donald Trump gave his State of the Union address Tuesday night. It began with his refusal to shake House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand and ended with her ripping up a copy of Trump’s speech.

Arizona lawmakers are reacting to what they saw. Democrat Tom O’Halleran said he plans to help bridge the divide.

“We have to find a way to work together and that’s why I’m wearing a purple tie today," he said. "We have to find a way to work together and find real solutions for the American people and the priorities of our country.”

Republican Debbie Lesko is focusing less on the political tension and more on the President’s remarks. She said she applauds his emphasis on what’s been accomplished, especially in regards to immigration.

“He’s made huge strides in that effort way different than the Obama administration and way different than any of the presidential candidates on the Democrat side," Lesko said.

The Senate is set to vote on two articles of impeachment against the president Wednesday afternoon.
