Environmental groups are up in arms about a proposed development in southeastern Arizona that they fear would threaten the San Pedro River

The Villages at Vigneto development would be built near Benson, Arizona, about 40 miles East of Tucson. It would be large — a 28,000-home subdivision complete with a lot of commercial and office, retail development and golf courses.

Tony Davis, environmental reporter with the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson, has been covering this story since 2015. Davis spoke to The Show about the project.
