Cross-Border Trade Focus Of Arizona-Mexico Town Hall In Hermosillo
Government and business leaders from Arizona and Sonora, Mexico are meeting south of the border Friday for an Arizona-Mexico Town Hall. The meeting is focused on resources for cross-border business and trade.
Now in its third year, the Arizona-Mexico Town Hall will center on developing a cross-border business guide.
“There’s a void, there's a dearth of resources that specifically focus on the cross-border trade and investment issues," said Patrick Welch, an attorney with Jennings Strouss of Phoenix, the premier sponsor of the event.
He says the new guide will replace an outdated one published by the Arizona-Mexico Commission in 1994. The commission will use recommendations generated during the town hall to create an updated, digital version.
Welch says more than 50 government and business leaders from across Arizona and Sonora are participating in the event, a reminder of the importance of their economic relationship.
