A recent strike by Phoenix and Tempe bus drivers against their employer, Veolia Transportation, may come back to haunt them. 

A six-day strike by more than 900 drivers caused major service disruptions for thousands of people who rely on public transit to get to work, school, or appointments. The drivers are employed by Veolia Transportation, but drive buses for the City of Phoenix and City of Tempe as part of the Valley Metro transit system. 

After the strike, an amendment was added to a House bill that would prohibit unions whose workers perform a contracted public service from striking. The provision has been added to a bill that prevents local governments from paying public employees for union-related work.
