As College Costs Increase, Should Schools Focus On Finance Education?

College costs continue to climb, making it even more relevant for students to have financial knowledge — including knowledge of financial aid, loans and scholarships.

A law, recently put into effect in Arizona, requires financial education to be included in a high school economics class, an idea pushed by lawmakers and Treasurer Kimberly Yee.

But should students be learning about personal finance even earlier? And what specifically should they be learning?

The Show spoke with Robert Farrington to learn more about the issue. He specializes in student loan debt and is the founder of The College Investor, which focuses on millennials.
