Josh Shore shares his story at the Romance or Not event at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 13, 2019.

KJZZ is partnering with the Arizona Republic to bring you the Arizona Storytellers project on the radio. Storytellers in Phoenix share their stories at live events in town.

Josh Shore lost his mother to cancer over six years ago. Shortly thereafter, his girlfriend broke up with him over the phone.

He was hurt and sealed his feelings of grief and loss in a proverbial “feelings jar” and put it on the shelf. Josh decided that life was so short that he would just live in the moment all the time. But several years of poor eating habits led to weight gain. So he joined a Crossfit gym. Josh got stronger and stronger and started to feel better emotionally.

Josh Shore is the vice president of LSW Engineers.

The next storytelling event is Tuesday, August 13, at Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix. To learn more about the Arizona Storytellers project or how to tell your own story, visit storytellersproject.com.
