Alexandra Olgin comes to the station as a multimedia reporter, producer and host.

She is originally from Princeton, N.J., but spent the last four years in college at the University of Missouri. She moved to Phoenix after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in radio-television journalism.

Olgin is the 2013 National Youth Media Award recipient honored at the inaugural Korva Coleman Community Champions Awards Luncheon in February.

While pursuing her degree, she worked at the NPR affiliate, KBIA, in Columbia, Missouri as a reporter, producer and anchor from 2011-2013. She also worked as a multimedia reporter for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s SciXchange program, which focuses on making science news accessible to the public.

She spent the summer of 2012 interning for Thomson Reuters Brussels News Bureau, primarily covering the European Union. Olgin also worked for the NBC affiliate, KOMU, in Columbia, Missouri as a reporter, anchor and web editor from 2009-2011.

During the summer of 2011, she interned at Chicago Fox affiliate WFLD with the investigative and special projects unit. She also worked at an online news source called Newsy.com as a staff writer between 2010 and 2011, and as an intern for the Fox Business Network in New York City in 2010.

Olgin enjoys traveling and any kind of outdoor activity.
