Maria Springs joined KJZZ News in June 2014 as a digital media assistant. She helps with web production, online news and social media.

Springs has experience in many aspects of the journalism field, including writing, research, editing, photography, public relations and social media. Her affinity for journalism comes from her passion for helping people and telling valuable and interesting stories. She believes everyone has a story to  tell.

Springs studied journalism at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She loves public radio and is excited to be part of the KJZZ team.

Springs has lived in Arizona for 20 years and moved to Phoenix five years ago. She loves the desert and diverse community. Originally from South Korea, Springs has a deep interest in world issues and culture. She is a humanitarian, Earth advocate and animal lover.
