Kathy Ritchie joined the KJZZ newsroom in 2014 as a reporter. With more than 10 years of experience reporting and writing stories for national and regional magazines and websites, including Child, SMITH, Arizona Highways and asap, the AP’s multimedia storytelling service, Ritchie is returning to her broadcasting roots.

Before becoming a writer, Ritchie got her start at ABC News and FOX News in New York City.

Ritchie wrote about her mother’s dementia in the book, The Moment: Wild, Poignant, Life-Changing Stories from 125 Writers and Artists Famous & Obscure. She also chronicled her experience as a caregiver in a blog called My Demented Mom.

She is a graduate of Arizona State University and New York University.
