Yuma, La Paz wages well below national average

A report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that weekly wages in Yuma and La Paz counties are well below both the state and national average of $903.

La Paz County averageis $604 while Yuma County's is $668. Yuma chronically has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation at nearly 30 percent.

Only two of Arizona's 15 counties reported wages above the national average for the second quarter of 2012 – Greenlee County and Maricopa County.
