Arizona Legislature primary races shake out

The Arizona Legislature saw a number of competitive races in Tuesday’s primary election.

House Speaker Andy Tobin will move on in the rural First District. Incumbent Representatives John Kavanagh and Michele Ugenti held off a challenge from Scottsdale School Board member Jennifer Petersen. And in Phoenix’s District 24 Democratic Senate race, former lawmaker Ken Cheuvront’s comeback attempt was derailed by first-term Senator Katie Hobbs.

Election results can be found on the Arizona Secretary of State's website.
