The Business of Sports

Join Steve Goldstein this Wednesday from 11 until noon on KJZZ'S Here and Now as he and a panel of guests discuss the business of sports in the Valley. From a host of college football Bowl games and next year's Super Bowl, to the saturation of the local pro-sports market, you can join the discussion during the program or post a comment or question now at the link below.

Re: The Business of Sports

I don't believe enough credit is given to horse sports and the horse industry. Two of Scottsdale's signature events, the Scottsdale Arabian Show and the Sun Circuit (Quarter Horse show) bring in millions of dollars to the Scottsdale economy. Since equestrian events are in the Olympics, they certain should be considered sport. There is virtually no coverage of horse events in the local press.

Please have your guest comment on the "crowding out" effect of these bowls games to non-sports tourists. One could obviously see the economic impact on a less desirable place like Green Bay, WI, but don't these bowl games discourage non-sports tourist from visiting the pleasant Valley of the Sun in January?
