Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

I would like to ask Mr. Munsil what he would do to enforce the laws already implace against the hiring of illegal immigrants within the State of Arizona? Wouldn't any money that is to be spent on controlling immigration be better served in enforcing these laws instead of building an arbitrary barrier? Wouldn't the illegals stop coming if they knew they could not get a job?

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

I am interested to know how Mr Munsil will fund his proposed border security plan, improve education and eliminate income tax? 40% of our states revenue is from income taxes, where will the replacement funding come from? Does Mr Munsil disagree that the burden for border control should fall with the federal government?

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

I urge the interviewer not to fall into the trap of using the term "Pro-Family" when describing Len Munsil. This implies that his opponents are "Anti-Family." His family-related initiatives, notably Prop. 107, are better characterized as anti-abortion rights and anti-gay rights--and they would strip rights from unmarried heterosexual couples and their children as well. Prop. 107 relegates to second-class status all families that don't fit into Len Munsil's traditional mold. Also, contrary to traditional Republican values of limited government and deference to local control, it strips cities, counties and other government entities of the right to take care of their employees as they see fit. This is hardly pro-family and serves to perpetuate anti-gay prejudice. Thank you, Lisa Genuit

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

IT WOULD BE NICE IF MR MUNSIL LIMITED HIS COMMENTS TO WHAT "HE" WOULD DO, RATHER THAN WHAT JANET NAPOLITANO DID NOT DO. WE CAN JUDGE FOR OURSELVES WHAT HER ACHIEVEMENTS ARE DURING HER ROLE AS GOVERNOR.

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

Threee points:

First, I may be remembering incorrectly, but contrary to your assertions, I remember Governor Napolitano Calling for the deployment of the National Guard to our border long before the President authorized this.

Second, perhaps you are far more well off than the average person in this region, but I can tell you, that I benefit from migrant workers in many ways. i would argue that the inexpensive services they allow are a boone to the middle and lower classes of this area.

Finally: How do you intend to pay for your program?

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

Addition to my second point: I argue that for the middle and lower classes of this area, the financial benefits of migrant workers more than offsets any perceived economic burden or stress on services.

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

Here in Northern Arizona we are very concerned about the renaissance of uranium mining and other developmental attacks on water supplies: overpumping of aquifers; building roads, homes, businesses in wilderness areas, using recycled sewage on the peaks for "artificial snow"; and increased greenhouse emissions from prescribed burns of the forests, coal power, and airport expansions.

What would you do, if anything, to help preserve a fragile, comparatively pristine area of Arizona before it is too late?

Len Munsil Question

How can you be so pro-family and be against an increase in the minimum wage?

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

Len -- how can you possibly test students when they start the year? How do you test them on something you haven't taught them yet? and how can that test be a useful comparison to the end-of-the-year test?

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

I know it's his party's strategy (from way back) to attack opponents with negative campaigning strategies but I'm sick & tired of hearing him bash Governor Napolitano. He just lost my vote. Mr. Munsil: Stick to what you will promise and hopefully deliver. Be honorable!

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

Has Mr. Munsil ever attended John Birch Society Meetings.

Is he a member?

Does his name appear on the John Birch Society speaker list?

Also, Mr. Munsil talks about his public school education with pride. What were his grades like in College?

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

Mr. Munsil allegedly promotes "family values" and, frankly, Mr. Goldstein panders to this notion. I am pro-life and don't have a problem with same-sex marraiges. So, I assume that Mr. Munsil would say that I have no "family values" (or at least inferior "values"). As a father of 3 and grandfather of 3, I find it offensive that he claims to be superior to me. I wonder how a person could govern the entire state of Arizona when he holds so many Arizonans who don't share his "values" with such contempt.

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

How can you support a standard test for all students at the same time support an education system that is choice based? A child trained as an artist has no need to know advanced math such as calculus

You got my vote on the Republican Primary.
Your response to the "Taliban Question was evasive."

Mr. Munsil Well Trained In Spin

Mr. Munsil has assailed the governor's veto after a deal she made with the legislature, BUT what he failed to mention was how the leadership of the legislature CHANGED the deal after the agreement.

Many of his comments today were full of spin. All we can be sure of is his ability to learn that trick from the Bush Administration.

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

Mr. Munsil has spent the better part of an hour misrepresenting Janet Napolitano's record while claiming to speak the truth. Then he ballyhoo'd his endorsement by the Prescott Courier, stating that the Courier is not a Republican paper. Anybody who has read the Courier knows that it is a far right paper. So where's the truth, Mr Munsil?

I agree with the comments by:

tha Mr. Munsil needs to talk less about the Governor negatively and more about what and who he is.

Re: Len Munsil on working with the legislature

The legislature, which is predominately Republican, a couple of years ago voted to reduce funding for the State Universities for tuition by $40 million dollars, causing a tuition increase, & then during the same session voted to fund $400 million for Biotechnology Research for the same Universities, & Michael Crowe's grand designs to use what was our affordable State Universities for his personal glory, & to the benefit his friends in private enterprise. Will you alow this practice of using State funds & Educational Institutions to benefit private enterprise, rather than to educate Arizona's children?

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

I read these comments and I can see that these folks are really mis-lead and biased. It is time for a change in Arizona. The educational and spending statistics prove that. Napalitano is a very very deceptive creature, from her answer on same sex marriage to border control and immigration laws. Yes yes she need to go and we need a new light for Arizona. Len Munsil has my vote and I'm sure the vote of anyone who is a student of God's word that condemns homosexuality!!!!!!!!

Re: Len Munsil on Illegal Immigration

I was glad to finally hear some balanced talk about Janet Napolitano's record to date on crime, education and profligate spending. With most local media pandering to the Governor's reelection, it is encouraging to hear the other side.

Re: Len Munsil - proven leadership

Why does Janet pretend to be something she is not? She's very cunning (not smart) and knows that if people in this state realized how far-left she really is, she would not get elected. It's all smoke and mirrors. Like John Kerry, she is a phantom and the people of Arizona need to understand that voting for her is voting for a false image and not the reality. Why has she purposely limited the debate? Why does she not address the tough questions? How does this show courage and leadership? In these tough times, we need someone who will lead and not pander.

Len, on the other hand, is someone who is not afraid to tell you who he really is and willing to take the risk that the majority of Arizonans will understand that his views are more in line with their own and vote for him in droves.

Sounds like the difference between image and character.

Character always trumps image. I believe that people sense in their hearts who is telling the truth and this will bear itself out by the choices they make in the privacy of the voting booth and homes.

Go Len!

Re: Len Munsil

Len,
Thanks for informing Arizona of Janet's record. People are not fairly informed by media, its seems case after case media is always on the left side of things. Id like to point out that you challenged her to 10 debates, how many of those did she show up for? Her excuse being she busy governing our state. Well i think its important we know were she stands before Arizonans vote to allow her to govern 4 more years.

My Vote's Goes to Len Munsil

Len Munsil on Education and Teachers

Mr. Munsil,

What incentives will you provide to attract the best teachers to our Phoenix suburbs. Also, What can be done to help high-school students better prepare for college?

Re: Len Munsil on our state

Len made comments that our state was the most crime ridden state in the nation. Where does he get his data? How can he back this up? According the FBI website, California is the most crime ridden state and St. Louis is the most dangerous city. Since Janet has been governer, our crime rate has actually dropped.
