Susan Stamberg
Susan Stamberg was the first woman ever to host a national daily news program. Long-time NPR listener enjoyed her conversational style from 1971 till 1986 on All Things Considered. Stamberg was there for every major news event from Watergate to Vietnam, from John Lennon's death to the Challenger disaster. She has interviewed hundreds - probably thousands of newsmakers and celebrities in her 30-plus years at NPR.

Ask Susan about her son, Josh Stamberg's, acting career. He was great on Six Feet Under and Over There.
When you covered stories like Watergate and Lennon's death do you wish you would of had technology such as email, blogs, and websites to mass communicate with others worldwide? Compared to just calling in.
I'm 42. When I was in 5th grade, there were only "boy" hall guards. I went to the principal and explained I didn't think that was quite fair. He selected a female teacher as a sponsor, and a group fifth grade girls were made hall monitors (with bright orange crossing guard badges). I was honored to be one of those monitors. Not a big deal, really. But I always feel that I started a "new age of feminism" at Rudiger Elementary School in Tallahassee FL.
In these days of lobby scandals coming out of Washington, would Susan take this opportunity to come clean re: how much she has received over the years from the American Cranberry Growers lobby?
