I would like to know why my family can't have the option to choose and pay for the same health care plan the congressman has? After all, collectively we pay for his, and it is government run, but I can't choose it. How in good conscience can he oppose giving us a government option?

Health care problems in the US are not new. We spend roughly twice as much as any other industrialized nation on health care and yet we rank someplace between 20th and 30th in health care outcome. We are the only industrialized nation where health insurance is a "for profit" industry.

The Republicans controlled the White House and congress from 2000 to 2006. Why didn't you do something about the problems then?

What I don't see being addressed is the current problems with high cost due to the inefficiency of duplicate and unncesessary treatment and procedures from an infrastructure process. Specifically, doctors and medical agencies don't share information in an efficient way costing billions of dollars with no improvement to patient care.
