Here and Now - Alzheimer's Disease

There is no cure for Alzheimer's disease. At least not yet. But millions of Americans must deal with dementia and Alzheimer's on a daily basis. The valley is home to a number of different research efforts to prevent the disease. Guests include Dr. Eric Reiman, executive director of the Banner Alzheimer's Institute and Dr. Marwan Sabbagh of the Sun Health Research Institute and author of the new book The Alzheimer's Answer: Reduce Your Risk and Keep Your Brain Healthy.

You can share your experience with Alzheimer's below. Or post a comment or question for our guests. Because of obnoxious spammers, we have to monitor the blog, so you're entry may not be posted right away.

The Sun Health Institute phone number is (623) 875-6500. This is the number for those interested in participating in a study looking at detecting Alzheimer's through a blood test.

Re: Here and Now - Alzheimer's Disease

Mike, I asked Dr. Reiman about your question off-air. He said there hasn't been much study on soy products, but didn't seem to think it was something to really worry about. As Dr. Sabbagh's book talks about, diets that lead to high cholersteroal and diabetes are a concern. Sorry we couldn't get to your question on air.
