ADEQ: Bad Air Quality Hitting Phoenix Area Early This Season

Bad air quality is hitting the Valley early this season, according to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).

A monitor in Phoenix hit an Air Quality Index of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups on Thanksgiving. This is the earliest occurrence since current record keeping began in 2010.

ADEQ Meteorologist Matt Pace said people should be careful about spending too much time outside, especially those with preexisting health problems.

AZ Pharmacist Sentenced After Diverting 200,000 Opioids

An Arizona pharmacist and pharmacy technician have been sentenced to 10 years in prison for diverting hundreds of thousands of opioids, using a Scottsdale pharmacy as a front.

Vilawoe Boadu and Zinka Sisic processed fake prescriptions and distributed more tha n200,000 oxycodone and hydrocodone tablets and other prescription medications.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, two others were convicted in the case. Michael Karron Holley and Julian Thomas Petty (also known as “Swerve Baller” and “Bouji,”) helped create the fake prescriptions.
