Homicide rates across the country were up in 2015 and again in 2016. And a new report from the National Institute of Justice looks into two explanations for that.

Richard Rosenfeld is one of the authors of that study. He’s a professor of criminology and criminal Justice at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

One of the explanations: drug markets. And, it seems like that’s been an issue for a while in this country.
