Prescott Valley's Chief of Police has a somewhat embarrassing request - to help him find his missing Glock.

Chief Bryan Jarrell left his black, 9-milimeter handgun at the Prescott Valley library earlier this month.

A spokesman for the police department, Sergeant Jason Kaufman, described it as human error.

"After attending a Prescott Valley Town Council meeting, Chief of Police Brian Gerald entered the restroom of the Prescott Valley library to change his clothes," Kaufman said. "While the chief changed his clothes, he inadvertently left his department issued firearm in the restroom stall."

That was Nov. 9, but the Chief reportedly did not notice it was missing until four days later.

A spokesman for the Prescott Valley Library said the gun was never turned into its lost and found department.
