Mexican Consulate In Phoenix Responds To Mexico Earthquake
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook central Mexico this week, leaving hundreds of people dead or wounded.
The Mexican Consulate in Phoenix has already received many calls as families try to connect with loved ones south of the border.
The consul general of Phoenix, Claudia Franco, said there are resources available to distraught families.
“For those might have had relatives or friends down in Mexico when the tragedy struck, we've also put out in our website information about Department of State resources where they can find out about their loved ones,” Franco said.
Arizona officials and firefighters have offered aid to Mexico if specific needs arise.
