The Maricopa County elections system is untouched by Russian hackers, according to county officials.

On Monday a leaked report from the National Security Agency said Russian intelligence had hacked into a vendor who provides voting software.

Karen Loschiavo with the County Elections Department explains why Maricopa County is not exposed.

"All of our systems are built in house ... by our own IT department. We are fortunate as a county to have our own talented IT department on staff. So we don’t have to contract out as other counties do," she said.

Loschiavo says it’s also key that the elections department has no tabulation software that is connected to the Internet.
