Arts and cultural employment grew faster in Washington than in any other state — and just after Washington is Arizona. That’s according to the finalized annual numbers for 2014, just released from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Utah, Nevada and Florida round out the top five.

Compared to the national average of 1.3 percent, Arizona reports 4.4 percent employment growth in arts and culture fields, with just under 86,000 jobs across fields that include core arts production, publishing, broadcasting and motion pictures.

Total arts employment account for 3 percent of Arizona’s jobs. The average compensation rate for a job in the arts and cultural industry in Arizona was $54,004 in 2014.
