Entrepreneurs Developing Technology For Older Americans

Technology is playing a big role in the lives of many older Americans. More and more startups are developing technologies that could transform the way we age.

Aging 2.0 Phoenix wants to redefine how we age using technology. On paper that sounds great, but there are some seniors who either don’t know how to use technology or don’t want it.

Still, that hasn’t stopped some entrepreneurs from trying.

And on April 21, they’ll compete for the chance pitch their idea nationally. Kent Dicks is the CEO of Life 365 and a member of Aging 2.0

"So it’s important that the pitch events bring out things can actually be used. … Over the next, til 2025, were going to double in people that are above 65. The whole dynamic of the market that we’re serving is going to have to be served differently," Dicks said.

The finalists run the gamut, from a company that helps families hire friends to socialize with their loved ones to one that’s creating a virtual-reality experience for people with dementia.
