Phoenix-based opioid drug maker Insys Therapeutics is reporting an almost 42 percent decline in its quarterly revenue.

The company blames falling demand for its product, Subsys, an opioid spray approved for managing pain in cancer patients.

Insys is among the nation’s top opioid drug makers by sales -- and has come under scrutiny during the last several months as authorities address an epidemic in painkiller use.
