It was a busy week at the state Capitol. We’ll recap all the week’s top stories.
ADOT Gives Homeless Veterans More Time To Relocate
The Arizona Department of Transportation is giving homeless veterans camping out on state land more time to relocate.
Almost 30 people have been living in tents in a camp near Loop 202 and the Salt River. Last week, ADOT ordered the group vacate the site by today. Now ADOT says it will allow the encampment to remain until March 20.
In the meantime, ADOT says they will work the with state Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Economic Security to assist those remaining in the encampment.
