Earlier this week, we presented a roundtable conversation on religion on KJZZ’s Here and Now. It’s part of our continuing series on community called We Are The Valley.

As an extension of that conversation, we wanted to recognize that there is also a community of atheists and non-believers in the Phoenix area. Holly Schineller is an organizer in the Phoenix Atheists Meetup Group.

We spoke to her about how members of this community come together for social reasons, as well as for support in times of need — similar to the way a church community might be there for one of its members.
