The Loop 303/I-10 traffic interchange in Goodyear will soon open. Before its grand opening, the public is invited to attend a dedication. On Saturday visitors will be able to walk, jog or bike around the Cotton Lane underpass beneath I-10.

This is a chance to get a first look at the expanded area. There are elevated ramps that now allow access to and from the two freeways. Frontage roads were added along I-10 in both directions and the Loop 303 is now a six-lane highway.

"We have a tradition of allowing folks to come on out to the project before it’s fully ready to open to traffic," said Arizona Department of Transportation spokesperson Doug Nintzel. "We want to give people chance to see quite frankly see what their dollars have been paying for.”

Nintzel said the Loop 303/I-10 traffic interchange public event starts at 7:30 Saturday morning. The area is expected to be open for traffic by September.
