KJZZ tested the site around noon on Oct. 10, 2016, and found it to be working.

Today is the last day to register to vote in Arizona. It is also the deadline for voters to update their registration if they have moved or changed their name.

It is also a holiday, which makes some things a little more complicated. Due to Columbus Day, the post office is closed, as are Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) offices.

Still there are plenty of ways to get registered to participate in the Nov. 8 election before the stroke of midnight tonight.

Prospective voters who have an Arizona driver’s license or a state ID can go onto Service Arizona to register to vote or update voter registration. The transaction must be completed before 12 a.m.

Some problems were reported with the site this morning, but a spokesman for the MVD told KJZZ said the agency was working to fix it.

“If the site is being slow or acting up as people hit it, just we would ask for a little patience and try back in a little while,” said Matt Roberts, a spokesman for the Secretary of State’s office. “We know MVD is working well and efficiently and we are sure that throughout the day it will be doing just that.”

KJZZ tested the site around noon and found it to be working.

The Maricopa County Recorder’s office and the Secretary of State’s office are open and voters can go there to register during business hours.

Both the Arizona Republican Party and Arizona Democratic Party headquarters in Phoenix will be open until midnight to register voters and collect voter registration forms. The Democratic Party’s field offices around the state will also be open till midnight, and the GOP has announced its Tucson office will also be open.

Voter registration forms can be downloaded from the Secretary of State’s website. But it is now too late to mail back those forms since the post office is closed today.

Arizona Republican Party headquarters in Phoenix is at 3501 N. 24th St. in Phoenix.

Arizona Democratic Party headquarters in Phoenix is at 2910 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix.
