Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne, who last week sued the federal government after it brought hundreds of undocumented children into Arizona from Texas, plans to visit a federal detention center in Nogales on Monday. Horne says his visit is a humanitarian, not a political one.

“No matter how you feel about immigration, kids have to be treated humanely in all circumstances, and we’re going down there to make sure they’re being treated humanely or if not see what we can do about it, legally,” Horne said.

He maintains the federal government has no authority to move the migrants from one state to another. And, he has asked the courts to back him up on that claim.
