Policymakers and residents of the city of Phoenix have been debating whether or not trails should be closed when certain temperatures are reached— 110 degrees was the number commonly cited.

But what if you’ve decided to go out and think you can handle the heat, but somehow forgot to bring some water with you?

That’s where Gabriel Cruz comes in. He’s unofficially a “water angel” who tries to make sure you don’t get dangerously parched.
